The Soul Restoration series of workshops is designed specifically for African-descended women in the US to begin and/or continue their journey of healing from the traumas of past and present day systemic racism.
The workshops are based on three core concepts:
- Trauma recovery: how we heal from life’s traumatic events. Big T or little T, we experience traumas throughout our lives, either directly or indirectly. And all traumas have the potential to affect our lives.
- Epigenetics: the science of how the traumas experienced by our ancestors have actually been passed down to us by way of markers on our DNA and can impact us in the present.
- Shamanic/energy healing: the oldest form of healing, practiced by indigenous people around the globe before the “advances” of allopathic medicine. Science now calls this quantum physics, the theory that everything is connected and that the energy/ vibrational/ spiritual world is just as real as the physical world.
The series is set up with three levels: first, introducing the core concepts; second, doing the deep work; and third, celebrating our radiance. Any of the workshops may be taken more than once; in fact, the more you repeat a workshop, the more deeply you gain insight into the ways in which racism has affected your mind, body and spirit, and the paths to healing.
None of the events or workshops are in any way a substitute
for medical, psychological or psychiatric treatment.
While The Project is designed for African-descended women, people of all races and genders are welcomed as supporters. Many white allies have recognized The Project’s worth from the beginning and continue to support its development.
The Project is funded totally by donations of time, material, and funding; all donations are deeply appreciated. To learn how you can help, click here.
